| Beginning his photography career as a photojournalist, Jim Kirby honed his skills as a visual storyteller and in the process won nine Virginia Press Association awards for Excellence in Photography. Since then, Jim has been shooting advertising and editorial assignments for magazines, ad agencies, and corporations. Based in Reston, Virginia, Jim shoots assignments for a host of long-time clients in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Last year, Mountain Trail Press published Jim’s first solo book, Harpers Ferry, A Crossroads in Time. The 120-page book tells the remarkable story of the historic West Virginia town through photographs and words. Jim also sells stock images of the Greater Washington region, including photographs of outdoor activities, scenics, travel, wildlife, places of historical interest, recreation and lifestyle pictures. |
